3 KILLER Grilled Desserts
Grilled Strawberry Shortcake
Hate baking? No problem. We recommend store-bought pound cake for this project anyways. And, yes -- we know. Shortcake isn’t the same thing as pound cake, but the focus of this dessert is going to be that great smokey, charred flavor from your grill.

2 cups whipped cream
1 lb package of strawberries (about 24), tops off
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. honey
12 oz. Pound Cake

The process here is really simple. You just want to skewer your strawberries and drizzle some honey over them. Then, grill these strawberry-kabobs over a medium-high grill, until you get some nice char flavor. After that, put these strawberries in a small saucepan, and reduce until sugar is well dissolved into a syrupy texture.

You’re also going to be grilling your pound cake. Cut some slices, an inch thick or so, and grill them over a medium-high grate. Let your cake get some deep grill-marks, and you’re done!

From there, assemble this like any other strawberry shortcake. Cake, strawberries, and then whipped cream. The result is a smokey, sweet dessert that you won’t soon forget!

Grilled Bananas Foster

4 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 medium ripe bananas
Oil, for grill pan
Vanilla ice cream

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon. Bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar has completely dissolved. Simmer until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat, stir in the vanilla and set aside.

Leaving the peel on, cut each banana lengthwise and brush with butter and brown sugar sauce. Oil a preheated grill pan and arrange the bananas, cut side down, on the pan. Grill until the bananas are nicely caramelized.

From there, you’re ready to go! Of course, take the skins off your now-grilled bananas. Serve them with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and drizzle with the brown sugar sauce.

Grilled Pineapple Sunday

1/2 cup dark rum
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 pineapple, cored and cut into rings (choose desired thickness)
Vanilla ice cream

This is essentially another take on the classic bananas foster. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and rum. Soak your pineapple in this mixture (the longer the better) while your grill heats up. We suggest medium-high heat. Grill your pineapple until dark grill marks appear, and you’re ready to go!

Serve with your favorite vanilla ice cream, and you’re in business. This smokey, sweet dessert is a definite improvement on the classic bananas foster, if we do say so ourselves.
